quoting the story from aquatic activist Abdoulie Amar Gaye, The periodic beach cleaning exercise in partnership with Gambia Maritime and Development Oriented Citizens D.O.C was held today.
The activity was held at the Banjul Fish Landing Site. The area was littered with both organic and inorganic products. The littering of Plastic materials was seen amassed, as a result of our inability to manage waste, these strong and time-consuming deplorable materials are posing a lot of hazards to animals underwater.
There is a high need for revisiting the banning of plastic materials to save: aquatic & grazing animals from such precarious exposures.
The Banjul beaches are a strategic and valuable asset if it is well-managed and utilized.
