Gabon has temporarily banned French state media stations TV5 Monde, France 24, and Radio France International (RFI)

GABON

Gabon has banned French state media stations TV5 Monde, France 24, and Radio France International (RFI) temporarily due to an alleged lack of neutrality and fairness in their coverage of the general election held on Saturday. RFI had expressed concerns over a post-election crisis due to an internet shutdown and curfew. Although the results have not been announced yet, it is highly speculated that President Ali Bongo will win the seat for a third term. The Bongo family has been ruling Gabon for over 55 years. What do you think of Gabon’s decision to ban TV5 Monde, France 24, and RFI?
