The Gambia Police Force hereby informs the public that the primary suspect, Ousainou Bojang, in the tragic shooting incident resulting in the death of two police officers and leaving one in critical condition, appeared in the Kanifing Magistrate’s Court today.
The case will be heard and a request for transfer to the High Court made on the grounds of lack of jurisdiction.

PARTICULARS OF OFFENCE
Ousainou Bojang, on or about the 12th day of September 2023, at Sukuta-Traffic Lights and diverse places in the Republic of The Gambia, with malice aforethought, caused the death of Police Constable Sang J. Gomez by shooting him with a pistol, thereby committed an offense.

STATEMENT OF OFFENCE
Murder contrary to section 187 of the Criminal Code cap 10:01 Volume III laws of The Gambia 2009.
PARTICULARS OF OFFENCE
Ousainou Bojang, on or about the 12th day of September 2023, at Sukuta-Traffic Lights and diverse places, in the Republic of The Gambia, with malice aforethought, caused the death of Police Constable Pate Jallow by shooting him with a pistol, thereby committed an offense.

Prohibition of acts of Terrorism Contrary to Section 3(1)(c) of the Anti-Terrorism Act Cap 13:01 Volume III Laws of The Gambia 2009.
PARTICULARS OF OFFENCE
Ousainou Bojang, on or about the 12th day of September, 2023, at Sukuta-Traffic Lights and diverse places, in the Republic of The Gambia, caused an attack on Police Constables Pateh Jallow, Sang J. Gomez, and Ancy Jawo, which was calculated to be an act of terrorism on their lives, thereby committing an offense.

STATEMENT OF OFFENCE
Accessory after the fact to murder contrary to section 202 of the Criminal Code cap 10:01 Volume III laws of The Gambia 2009.
PARTICULARS OF OFFENCE
Amie Bojang, on or about the 12th day of September 2023, at Sukuta-Traffic Lights and diverse places, in the Republic of The Gambia, knowingly or having reasons to believe that Ousainou Bojang has committed murder, provided transportation for his exit outside the jurisdiction of The Gambia, thereby committed an offense.
