Going by the Dakar Court verdict this morning, Ousmane Sonko is eligible to contest the presidential election of 2024.
A judge in Dakar courts cancels his removal from the electoral lists
As a reminder, the Dakar court debated last Tuesday whether or not to reinstate Ousmane Sonko on the electoral lists on which his candidacy for the February 2024 presidential election depends.
It could be recalled that on November 17, the Supreme Court overturned a judgment rendered in October, which had put Mr. Sonko back in the race by annulling his removal from the electoral lists following a two-year prison sentence in June in a morals case.
However, the government has yet to respond to the court verdict.
