Youth Minister speak at 5th Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum in Istanbul

Honourable Bakary Y. Badjie, Minister of Youth and Sports was amongst the dignitaries who delivered the Opening statement at the 5th General Assembly of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum Istanbul, TΓΌrkiye.
In his remarks, Minister said the Gambia Government and its people and by extension all other Africans commitment for the continuous determination to support the agenda of the ICYF and the entire Muslim umma.
He said the case against Myanmar on the atrocities committed against Rohingya Muslim Minority at the ICC and the recent public condemnation of the aggression been committed by Israel on the Palestinians in Gaza Strip reaffirms their unwavering commitment to defending the rights of Muslim our brothers and sisters.

“We wish to also use this occasion to condemn the recent terrorist attack on the Turkish Capital Istanbul” Minister Badjie emphasis.
The youth Minister revealed that The Gambia will in May 2024 host the 15TH OIC Heads of State and Government meeting in Banjul and they are looking forward to receiving participants in the Smiling Coast of Africa.

Minister Badjie thank the Turkish Government and its people through H.E President Ardogan for their continuous support of the ideals and principles of the Muslim Umma. He add that The Gambia as a Country has benefitted greatly from the unanimity of the Turkish people especially towards hosting the upcoming OIC summit.

The Youth and Sports Minister encourage Governments to continue engaging and investing in young people for a better society that they can all be proud of.
