Gambia U-20 Coach, Abdoulie Bojang, has expressed confidence that there will be victory for the Young Scorpions in their opening match against Benin, tomorrow at the All African Games.
Bojang was speaking at today’s pre-match press conference, where he emphasized the team’s plans for the upcoming Games, noting that the friendly matches they’ve played during the preparatory stage have been instrumental in identifying the team’s strengths and weaknesses.
“We have previously faced Benin in the AFCON U-20, so we are very well-prepared because we understand that there are no underdogs in African football. The sport is advancing rapidly, and we are ready for this match,” Bojang stated.
The former Scorpions midfielder noted further: “the Gambia U-20 team has performed exceptionally well in the past competitions. We always concentrate on the tactical aspect of the game, which is crucial”.
Mamadou Bah, the team captain, shared that he and his teammates are thrilled to be part of this historic moment. “It’s an incredible experience to participate in the tournament, and we are fully prepared. We will take it one step at a time, and gradually, we will achieve our goals because it’s every young player’s dream to play for their national team,” Bah commented.
The team held its official free-up session this evening ahead of the 8pm kickoff at the Accra Sports Stadium.
