His Excellency Adama Barrow, President of The Gambia, today hosted a South Korean delegation at the State House.
Discussions were centered on strengthening partnership and how to increase rice production since the majority of Gambians depend on rice as their essential food.
The Barrow administration deemed it necessary to continue to promote the establishment of rice cultivation enterprises, improve rice seed production, and supply systems throughout the country. “Rice is a national issue. We have to stand on our feet and produce enough food,” President Barrow said.
Ambassador Chong-weon Shin headed the delegation and was accompanied by Muhammed Jah of Q-Group, South Korean Consul in The Gambia and the Minister of Agriculture Honourable Dr. Demba Sabally.
