Minister of Lands, Regional Government, and Religious Affairs has returned to the Gambia following months of medical absence due to illness. Mr. Ousman Sowe and his family flew into Banjul Saturday night on board a special flight from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Shortly, after touching down at the airport, Mr. Sowe, who was seen walking unaided, expressed gratitude to the Gambian people, more so to the President, His Excellency Adama Barrow, the first family, his cabinet colleagues, Government officials and staff of the Ministry of Local Government, Lands and Religious Affairs.

Minister Sowe explained in detail the numerous goodwill messages and prayers he received during a difficult period. Mr. Sowe also returned gratitude to the Saudi medical team for their professionalism while commending the Gambian health service personnel for providing him the much-needed care during the first few days of his illness.

‘I’m looking forward to continuing the good work we have started ‘, he remarked as he made his way out of the Banjul International Airport just minutes after he disembarked from the special flight from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
