On Wednesday, March 6th, 2024, the Gambia Police Force’s Delta Company personnel of the PIU Kanifing responded to a tip-off about suspicious activity in a compound in Wulinkama, California. They arrested three Nigerian nationals who were suspected of possessing counterfeit US Dollar notes. After a thorough search, the officers found counterfeit cash amounting to $7,800 and three boxes containing $4.65 million in black paper used for printing suspected counterfeit money. The officers also discovered various items, including mobile phones, laptops, tablets, and boxes that were sealed with the Red Cross emblem and UN tags labelled “they should not be inspected.”The individuals arrested were Mr Prince Michael Adeleke Osindeinde (62), Ms Kafayat Omobolanle Adeshhina (47), and an 11-year-old boy. They were escorted to the Kanifing PIU camp for further investigation. The public is encouraged to provide any information that may be useful as the investigation continues.
