H.E. President Adama Barrow arrived in Dakar on Monday afternoon, ahead of the inauguration ceremony of President-Elect, H.E. Bassirou Diomaye Faye.
Senegalese Prime Minister, H.E. Sidike Kaba received President Barrow at Yoff Airport.
Also, High Commissioner Hadrammeh Sidibeh, staff of the Gambian Embassy, and a delegation of Gambians living in Senegal were at the Airport to welcome the President.
The Gambia’s Foreign Minister, Honourable Mamadou Tangara, was also amongst the dignitaries who received President Barrow.
On Tuesday, 2nd April 2024, President Barrow will be amongst over a dozen Heads of State and Government who will witness the official ceremony at which H.E. Macky Sall will officially hand over the office of the presidency to his successor, H.E. Faye, who will be the 5th President of the Republic of Senegal.
President Barrow’s attendance is a positive sign to further strengthen the existing fraternal and brotherly relationship between The Gambia and Senegal.
