During his speech at the 46th Jalsa Salana of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamat in the Gambia, Amir Baba F Trawally emphasized the importance of peaceful co-existence between husband and wife for the positive upbringing of children. Hundreds of Muslims from the Gambia and representatives from other countries gathered at the Nusrat Senior Secondary School grounds in Bundung for the annual religious convergence on the theme: “Global Crisis and Pathway to Peace.”
He highlighted the need for exemplary behavior at home to set a positive example for younger generations. He stressed that peaceful homes lead to children learning the value of peace. He advised husbands and wives to be tolerant, loving, compassionate, respectful, and kind to each other, and to communicate with kindness, patience, and calmness when issues arise. He also emphasized the importance of settling matters cordially and privately.
Furthermore, the Amir emphasized the responsibility of parents to ensure the well-being of their children, including monitoring their friendships, ensuring their attendance at school, and overseeing their moral and religious development. He encouraged children to be regular in their five daily prayers and to read the Holy Quran or learn the Yassarnal Quran.
Amir Baba F Trawally also advised women to support and motivate their husbands in their religious obligations with kindness and tenderness. He noted that many marital problems stem from a lack of patience and tolerance and advised women to be obedient, patient, and tolerant in their matrimonial homes. He stressed the importance of both husbands and wives keeping each other’s secrets, forgiving each other’s shortcomings, and understanding that no one is perfect. He emphasized that following these principles leads to happiness in marriage and contributes to raising children with a bright future.
