Today, at the Gambia Armed Forces Defence Headquarters, the Vice President His Excellency Mohammed BS Jallow, on behalf of President Adama Barrow, presided over the decoration ceremony of almost 68 junior and senior officers to the ranks of Captain, Major, and Lieutenant Colonel.
This milestone event, attended by key dignitaries including the Honourable Minister of Defence Ambassador Serign Modou Njie, Chief of Defence Staff Lieutenant General Mamat OA Cham and National Security Adviser Abubacarr Jeng, highlighted the officers’ dedication and loyalty.
Vice President Jallow emphasized the importance of merit-based promotions, ongoing government support, and strategic international partnerships. Additionally, a donation of D250,000 by President Barrow was presented to the victims of the recent Hamza Barracks fire incident in Banjul.
