The workshop aims to assess the financial and logistical aspects of the Praia-Dakar maritime transport initiative. This meeting marks a significant milestone in the broader Praia-Dakar-Abidjan-Lagos corridor project, which seeks to enhance regional connectivity and promote economic integration in West Africa.
Participants included Mr. Eduardo Lima, Executive Administrator of ENAPOR (National Ports Administration Company of Cape Verde), and Mr. Chris Appiah, Acting Director of Infrastructure at ECOWAS, both of whom highlighted the project’s potential to boost trade, tourism, and mobility in the region. A technical visit to Praia’s port provided critical insights into the infrastructure requirements for the successful launch of the maritime transport line, which is expected to be operational by the end of 2026.
