Three individuals are currently in custody at the Dakar court. They were arrested by the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) of the judicial police for offences including forgery and use of forged administrative documents, usurpation of function, and fraud.
According to reports from Kéwoulo, the DIC was contacted by the Ministry of the Interior. Suspects Serigne Mbaye, Safiétou Sy, El Hadj Mamadou Diallo, and Aly Bamanka are believed to have created a fake stamp bearing the Prime Minister’s signature and used it to correspond with foreign state authorities to obtain audiences and services.
By forging Ousmane Sonko’s signature, they secured an audience with the Prime Minister of Libya, who, as per sources, subsequently met with a Senegalese individual. This individual then contacted the prime minister’s office, which in turn contacted the Ministry of the Interior. The suspects were apprehended while preparing to travel to another African country and were interrogated by Commissioner Adramé Sarr’s team. Following the legal duration of their police custody, they were transferred to the public prosecutor’s office on Monday and are awaiting prosecution.
