The African Centre for Democracy and Human Rights Studies in collaboration with Open Society Foundation -Africa(OSF),Ford Foundation West Africa (TBC) is organizing a three day training on regional and international environmental protection and climate change mechanisms.This initiative is supported by various partners committed to environmental sustainability and climate resilience.
The convergence which is underway at Metz Hotel ,Kololi consisted of 12 participants representing various sectors and stakeholder groups.They are civil society actors and organisations working on environmental protection and climate change from diverse African communities.
The training aims to equip CSOs working on environmental and climate change in Africa with knowledge and skills to enhance the protection of human rights through engagement with international and regional human rights mechanisms.
The conclave will further prepare and establish a dedicated network of CSOs that will be working with the ACHPR on the promotion and protection of human rights in relation to environmental and climate issues in Africa.
The activity which end on Friday,aims to empower civil society actors and organisations as key agents of change in addressing environmental challenges and advancing climate resilience in Africa. By enhancing knowledge, fostering collaboration, and promoting innovative solutions, the event seeks to contribute to a more sustainable and resilient future for the continent.
