The Hon. Speaker, Fabakary Tombong Jatta is in Accra, Ghana, to attend the Conference of Speakers and Presidents of African Legislatures (CoSPAL).
This conference, established in 2020, unites African legislative leaders to tackle shared challenges and foster cooperation.
“As Speakers and Presidents of African Legislatures, we must work together to address our continent’s pressing issues,” Speaker Jatta emphasised.
“CoSPAL provides a vital platform for collective action, ensuring Africa’s development agenda remains on track.”
CoSPAL’s objectives include Facilitating open discussions among legislative leaders to identify solutions, building partnerships to drive Africa’s development and Encouraging mutual support among member states.
The conference recognises Parliament’s pivotal role in advancing Africa’s development agenda, focusing on economic growth, social progress and political stability.
