The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Seedy Mukhtar Touray, along with delegates from The Gambia Police Force, has joined other Heads of Police Agencies and Police Chiefs from 196 INTERPOL member countries to participate in the 92nd INTERPOL General Assembly in Glasgow, Scotland, from November 4th to 7th, 2024.
During the assembly, the delegation held bilateral meetings with representatives from Interpol and other member countries to discuss global partnerships, and combating organized crime.
These engagements highlighted mutual areas of cooperation and strategies for addressing shared security concerns.
Additionally, IGP Touray held fruitful discussions with Mr. Steven Carvana, Executive Director of Policing for INTERPOL. Their meeting focused on mutual challenges and a collective approach to enhancing global peace and security.
IGP Touray also met with the Canadian delegate for a bilateral discussion, further solidifying international cooperation. Similarly, the Chinese delegate engaged with IGP Touray, emphasizing collaborative opportunities.
The Inspector-General of Police aims to leverage the outcomes of these engagements to strengthen The Gambia Police Force’s capacity in addressing transnational crimes. He reaffirmed the GPF’s commitment to working closely with INTERPOL and other international partners to ensure global peace and security.
