Mr Nfamara Jawno Jawneh, the Executive Director, who also doubles as the Chairperson of the Child Protection Alliance in The Gambia, has reiterated the need for the protection and promotion of the rights of children in the country.
Mr Jawneh was speaking earlier today at the International Human Rights Day celebration in Essau in NBR on the theme: Our Rights, Our Future. Right Now.
He called on duty bearers to protect children and young people from all forms of abuse and exploitation.

said the theme for this year; Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now, underscores the urgency of safeguarding children’s rights.
He reaffirmed Beakanyang’s continued commitment to promoting human rights, particularly the rights of children.
“We have about 50 human rights clubs across the country, and by next year, we will be launching more clubs, including child rights clubs,” says our ED.
He thanked the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office for supporting the activity.
