A robbery took place at Access Bank in Brusubi this afternoon between 1:33 PM and 1:35 PM, lasting approximately three minutes. According to CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts, three men entered the bank through the main entrance. All three suspects were armed with pistols, although only one displayed a short gun, causing the bank’s security personnel to retreat and hide. No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported. The robbers proceeded to steal an undisclosed amount of money from the teller’s counter before exiting through the same entrance.
An eyewitness described the robbers fleeing the scene in a Mercedes Benz V-Boot vehicle without a number plate.
Less than two hours later, at 2:56 PM, a robbery with violence occurred at a Western Union bureau in Kunkujang Badjie Estate. The complainant stated that three men, one of whom was armed with a pistol, entered the bureau and restrained the employee, Yankuba Darboe, before forcibly taking D77,275. The suspects then fled the location.
The police have confirmed they are investigating both incidents and are working to apprehend the suspects.
