The National Roads Authority (NRA), through its Managing Director, Ousman Sanyang and the Ministry of Transport, Works, and Infrastructure (MOTWI) under the leadership of Hon. Ebrima Sillah on Thursday, 30th January 2025, concluded their nationwide inspection tour in the North Bank Region (NBR).
The week-long tour was part of their routine inspection tour of all ongoing road construction projects across the country.
The visits also give both NRA and the Ministry Chiefs first-hand information and access to the ongoing works.
Banni Salikene-Njaba Kunda Loop Road Project Update
The Banni Salikene-Njaba Kunda Loop Road project in the North Bank Region (NBR) has made significant progress in the ongoing construction work.
The 17km double surface dressing road project, which starts from Banni Salikene to Njaba Kunda, is contracted to Bajam Enterprise Limited, a Gambian-owned construction company, and NRA as the consultant on the project.
The contractor is now about to complete the whole base before moving to sealing.
The overall progress is at 80%.
Kerewan-Njawara Road Project
The Kerewan-Njawara Road Project, which is about 10km, is contracted to Gai Construction Company, a Gambian-owned company, and NRA is the consultant for the project.
This project is substantially completed.
Hakalang Loop and Secondary Roads Project
The Hakalang Road Project is divided into three sections: Bunaidu to Kuntaya 55.1km, Albreda to Fass Omar Saho 15.1km, and Bafuloto to Bangally 13.7km, respectively, making it a total of 84.5km.
Section 1 will be asphalt, while sections 2 and 3 will be double-surface dressing
The contractor is CSE, and PACE/GAMECS JV are the consultants. Progress is approximately at 85%
