More than 131 Million CFA Francs (206,408.43 US Dollars) Stolen from Singer Sidiki Diabaté’s Tour During His Concert
While the Malian star was performing Saturday night at Paris La Défense Arena, three hooded burglars stole the revenue from his tour from the home of his sister and producer.
Luxury leather goods and nearly 200,000 euros, or more than 131 million CFA francs. This is what was allegedly stolen Saturday night in Tremblay-en-France, from the home of the sister and producer of Malian artist Sidiki Diabaté. This is the revenue from the artist’s Belgian and French tour, which performed Saturday night at Paris La Défense Arena (Nanterre, Hauts-de-Seine).
While the Malian star was on stage, the doorbell rang on Avenue Salvador-Allende, in Tremblay-en-France, at the home of the singer’s sister and producer. The nanny, who was looking after her three- and four-year-old children, opened the door and found herself facing three hooded individuals armed with a handgun. “They asked her to get on her knees and turn around. They left with the safe,” a police source told AFP. Neither the nanny nor the two children were injured.
I contacted the Bobigny prosecutor’s office, but they have not yet confirmed the estimated value of the loot. According to information from Le Parisien, the safe contained a sum of money approaching 200,000 euros. The burglars also got their hands on designer bags.
A complaint was filed and an investigation for “armed robbery” was opened by the Bobigny prosecutor’s office, which entrusted the investigations to the Seine-Saint-Denis judicial police. As of Sunday morning, the perpetrators had not yet been identified.
