He further appealed to the public to allow the police to carry out their duties professionally, instead of attacking, insulting, or using abusive language against the police whenever a crime occurs. He emphasized that law enforcement requires the collective support of all Gambians to effectively combat crime and maintain national security.
Addressing the press, AIG Crime Management, Demba Sowe, and CP Prosecution and Legal, CP Abdoulie Sanneh, provided insights into ongoing investigations, successful tactical operations, and the effectiveness of intelligence-led policing. They stressed that proactive policing strategies and community engagement have played a pivotal role in these arrests.
The GPF assured the public that all arrested suspects will face the full force of the law, as the police remain committed to swift prosecutions of these violent offenders.
IGP Touray extended his heartfelt appreciation to all officers involved in the investigations and arrests, as well as members of the public who provided vital intelligence that led to these breakthroughs. The IGP Touray concluded the briefing by urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. He emphasized that fighting crime is a shared responsibility and highlighted that community engagement is key to preventing criminal activities before they escalate.
The session ended with a Q&A segment, where journalists engaged the panel on various aspects of the investigations, security measures, and GPF’s ongoing crime-fighting strategies.
The Gambia Police Force remains committed in its mission to protect lives and property, ensuring that law and order prevail in every corner of the country. As criminals are brought to justice, the message is clear—no act of violence will be left unchecked, and no offender will go unpunished.
