
The Anti-Crime Unit, during a visibility patrol and show of force on February 14, 2025, arrested a suspect in connection with the alleged theft of livestock in Lamin CDC.
The patrol team, led by DSP Corr, apprehended 21-year-old Yaya Badjie, a resident of Wellingara, who was found in possession of two goats, a sheep, a black speaker, and a vehicle tyre. Badjie’s accomplice, identified as Babucarr Ndure, fled the scene, abandoning a Benz C-Class (WCR 1495C) vehicle.
Insurance documents bearing the names of Babucarr Ndure and Alieu Ceesay were recovered from the abandoned vehicle. Two officers have been assigned to secure the car, while Yaya Badjie will be processed, and the case has been referred to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further investigation, according to a police press release.
