A team from Ummah Welfare Trust, a charitable organization based in the UK, today visited His Excellency Mohammed BS Jallow, the Vice President of The Gambia, at his office in Banjul. The purpose of the visit was to brief the Vice President about their ongoing efforts in the country, which include supporting blind individuals, building schools and mosques, and seeking governmentโs support to construct another mortuary at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH) in Banjul.
Imam Mustapha Jawara, the head of the delegation, shared that the main goal of the visit was to update the Vice President on their interventions and request the government’s assistance in securing land to build a new mortuary facility. Imam Jawara emphasized, “We support the blind, build schools and mosques, and now we need the government’s help to provide land for a new mortuary, as we have already secured the necessary funds.”
He also expressed deep gratitude to the Vice President for the warm reception and appreciated his willingness to offer support for this important initiative.
