
Hon. Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services, Dr. Ismaila Ceesay, today met with his counterpart Mr. Florentino Dias, Minister of Social Communications of Guinea-Bissau, at the Palácio do Governo in Bissau. Accompanied by their technical teams—including heads of national broadcasters and news agencies—the two sides exchanged valuable expertise and identified key areas of collaboration in TV, radio, and print.
Minister Dias thanked Dr. Ceesay for honoring their invitation and urged the teams to turn the MOU into action. Dr. Ceesay conveyed greetings from H.E. President Adama Barrow to H.E. President Umaro Sissoco Embaló, and reaffirmed The Gambia’s commitment to long-lasting, results-driven cooperation.
Later, the delegation toured Televisão da Guiné-Bissau, led by Director General, Mr. Amadu Djamanca, it was agreed that both broadcasters would explore ways for citizens in each country to access each other’s national news—bridging communities through media.
On day two, the focus shifts to radio, with technical meetings scheduled at Rádio Nacional da Guiné-Bissau (RND).
This visit reflects our shared goal to ensure access to accurate information for all and strengthen bonds between our two nations—rooted in Pan-Africanism and a shared history.
