
Beakanyang is currently holding a massive Reconciliation and unity festival in Brikama Kabafita with cultural ambiance,bringing together people from across NBR and WCR .
The 2025 unity festival’s key partners includes,
ATJLF, the EU, the AU and the Ministry of Tourism and Culture.
The deputy permanent secretary at the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Mr Siaka Fadera on behalf of his minister preside over the opening ceremony of the Beakanyang Reconciliation and Unity Festival
DPS Fadera hailed Beakanyang for using the power of culture to foster peace and social cohesion.
He reaffirmed his Ministry’s support for initiatives such as the Badinbung Festival.
Mr Nfamara Jawneh thanked the participating communities to honoring their invitation while expressing the significance of the initiative.
“We are pleased to revive Badinbung, an African Traditional Justice Mechanism that unites communities, promotes justice and restore broken relationships.We thank the Ministry of Tourism and Culture through the National Center for Arts and Culture (NCAC) and GTBoard for their support to our ongoing reconciliation and unity festival,” said Beakanyang Executive Director Mr Nfamara Jawneh Jawneh.
“We appreciate the Badinbung approach and will do everything possible to extend it to more communities across the country as it has already started paying dividends for us in all our intervention communities,” Chairman Imam Omar Bojang.
All the Beakanyang intervention communities were fully represented.
Day 2 of the ongoing cultural reconciliation and unity festival in Brikama is in progress and cultural dialogue is the first agenda.
