Teachers and staff from across the cluster gathered in unity in a commemoration geared towards fostering unity and sharing of impactful teaching strategies geared towards the advancement of education in the area. They applauded Badjie’s bold and consistent advocacy for teachers and civil servants across the nation. Their support, which they have proudly manifested, was not only in recognition of his past service in the same cluster as a teacher but also a reflection of his impactful role at the National Assembly.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Badjie emphasized the vital role of teachers in national development. He stressed that no nation can truly progress without the full participation of teachers, who remain the foundation of every countryโs advancement.
He added that teachers are the ones who shape minds, nurture future leaders, and build the prospects of every society, and The Gambia is no exception. For that reason, he called for teachers to be uplifted, empowered, and properly remunerated beyond verbal appreciation.
Speakers at the event described Hon. Badjie as one of the most fearless and principled voices in the legislature, commending his service and vision as they pledged support for his 2026 presidential bid, calling his leadership timely and necessary.
The event marked a powerful moment of solidarity and recognition from the teaching fraternity of Foni Bintang.
