
The Deputy Governor (Executive Coordinator) of Banjul Hon. Ousman Touray , under the Office of the Executive Coordinator, attended a three-week seminar on Industrial Poverty Alleviation for Developing Countries held in Beijing, China.
The seminar was organized by the Administration Management Institute (AMI).
The event brought together policy makers, administrators, deputy governors, directors, students, and women advocates from various developing nations. It focused on the critical role of sustainable industrial development, job creation, and economic transformation in combating poverty.
The seminar highlighted key strategies and shared experiences aimed at leveraging industrial development to foster sustainable growth in developing countries.
During the sessions, Mr. Touray, the Deputy Governor of Banjul, emphasized the need for governments to provide direct subsidies to farmers and underprivileged communities, ensure access to quality seeds, and promote modern animal and poultry farming. He further encouraged private sector involvement in agriculture to complement government efforts.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Touray expressed gratitude to the Executive Coordinator of Banjul, Hon. Ebrima Jawo, for the opportunity to attend the seminar and acknowledge the support of office staff during his absence.
