
Today, His Excellency Mohammed BS Jallow, Vice President of the Republic of The Gambia, presided over the official opening of the Bi-monthly Sector Coordinating Meeting at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre in Bijilo.
The meeting, hosted by the Food Safety and Quality Authority, brought together sectors under the Office of the Vice President to review progress, share achievements, and discuss challenges in delivering institutional mandates.
In his opening statement, Vice President Jallow emphasized the importance of collaboration, innovation, and accountability, noting that the platform serves as a key mechanism for stock-taking and strategic coordination across sectors. He urged all institutions to remain committed to effective governance, and to continue working together to improve the well-being of Gambians.โน
โThis platform is not just for coordination, but for assessing progress, identifying challenges, and mapping the way forward,โ VP Jallow noted, highlighting the critical roles played by the sectors in areas such as food safety, nutrition, disaster response, population planning, early warning, and social protection.
The Vice President concluded by commending the high level of collaboration so far and encouraged even stronger ties among sectors for greater impact.
