
The National Social Protection Agency, through the Gambia Social Registry, convened a day-long stakeholder workshop on July 22 at McCarthy Square in Banjul.
The event brought together key institutions and community representatives, including the Banjul City Council (BCC), National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA), Gambia Red Cross Society (GRCS), Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MOBSE), the Office of the Executive Coordinator, as well as women and youth groups from across Banjul.
In his welcoming remarks, Hon. Ebrima Jawo, Executive Coordinator of Banjul, emphasized the importance of the Social Registry in enhancing access to accurate data to support residents of Banjul, especially during emergencies and development planning.
Hon. Jawo called on the people of Banjul to actively support the Social Registry’s efforts, noting that their cooperation will ensure the system functions effectively in identifying and supporting vulnerable populations during times of crisis.
