
The Gambia Immigration Department (GID) has officially launched its overseas biometric passport enrolment service in Madrid, Spain, on the 28th July 2025, marking an unprecedented milestone in delivering accessible and efficient services to Gambians abroad.
His Excellency Noah Touray, Gambian Ambassador to Spain, delivered the official launch statement on behalf of the Government of The Gambia. He was joined by other distinguished speakers, including Mr. Lamin Demba, Deputy Ambassador; Mr. Kebba Touray, Country Manager of Africard Gambia Ltd.; and Commissioner Foday Gassama, who represented the Director General of Immigration.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Interior and implemented by the Gambia Immigration Department (GID), is supported by Africard Gambia Ltd. It reflects the Government of The Gambiaโs ongoing commitment to making government services more accessible to Gambians residing overseas.
The biometric enrolment team in Spain, headed by Commissioner of Processing Foday Gassama, will provide judicious services to Gambians in Spain with measured professionalism and the utmost adherence to legal guidelines.
The GID extends its appreciation to the Government of The Gambia through the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, and Africard Gambia Ltd. for their support and cooperation.
The GID, under the leadership of Director General Ebrima Mboob, reaffirms its commitment to modernizing service delivery and enhancing national identity management for Gambians, both at home and abroad.
