
His Excellency Mohammed B.S. Jallow, Vice President of The Gambia, on Thursday, 31 July presided over the closing ceremony of the first-ever Sahel Governance Forum at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre in Bijilo.
Held under the theme โThe Future of Governance: (Re)building Social Cohesion and Public Trust,โ the two-day forum brought together former Heads of State, regional leaders, youth and women representatives, international development partners, and key stakeholders from across the Sahel region.
In his closing address, VP Jallow reaffirmed The Gambia’s commitment to people-centered leadership, inclusive governance, and sustainable development through the transformative โYIRIWAAโ Green Recovery-Focused National Development Plan (2023โ2027).
โLet us leave not with speeches, but with commitments. Let us leave not with applause, but with action,โ the VP urged.
The Forum served as a platform for reflection, dialogue, and renewed action to restore public trust, strengthen institutions, and build a peaceful and prosperous Sahel.
