
While speaking at the official opening of the Essau Model Police Station, the Inspector General of Police, Seedy Muctar Touray, noted that the area is well-positioned in terms of executing policing duties.
He spoke at length on the significance of the facility and further commended the community for facilitating the site for the establishment of the Station.
Mr Touray added that the magnificent structure is a key component of the community policing initiative.
The Honourable Minister of Interior, Abdoulie Sanyang, spoke of the Gambia government’s strike in enhancing the rule of law as enshrined in its national development blueprint.
Ahunna Eziakonwa, the Assistant Administrator for UNDP Regional Coordination, who provided the funding, urged the beneficiary community to make good use of the facility.
Other speakers include the government of the North Bank Region, Mr.Ebrima Mabo KS Dampha.
It could be recalled that the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), United Nations Peacebuilding Fund, and other International Partners, and the Gambia Police Force collaborated in establishing the Essau Model Police Station.
