The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MoBSE) recently participated in two key international engagements, enhancing staff capacity and strengthening regional and bilateral partnerships.
MoBSE staff drawn from different Regional and Headquarters Directorates attended the 2025 Seminar on leadership improvement for education officers in China, a program hosted by Northeast Normal University and organized with the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China.
The seminar provided our staff with valuable insights into China’s educational reforms.
The knowledge and networks established during this seminar are expected to strengthen on going educational collaboration between The Gambia and the People’s Republic of China.
In a separate engagement, Mr. Ogis Jatta of the Directorate of In-service Training and Life-long Learning (DITALL) represented MoBSE in Lome, Togo.
Mr. Jatta participated in the validation of the Accountability Framework for the West and Central Africa (WCA) Commitment, a regional effort to strengthen the teaching of Life Skills-based HIV and sexuality education.
The framework builds on a commitment made by 25 countries in 2023.
These activities demonstrate MoBSE’s proactive role in learning from global experiences and collaborating on regional initiatives to improve education.
