The Police are investigating an incident of alleged murder by gunshot involving Bubacar Dem (suspect) and Biran Jallow (victim). A team comprising the Crime Scene Investigation Unit, the Pathology Department of EFSTH, the Police Intervention Unit, and other security services proceeded to Dongoroba Village in connection with the case. This operation was carried out on 24th August 2025.
The suspect, Bubacar Dem, led investigators to his rice field where he indicated burying the victim, Biran Jallow. In the presence of family members, the grave was exhumed, and the body was formally identified by the deceasedβs father and brother.
An onsite post-mortem was conducted. The examination revealed multiple gunshot wounds, and 29 pellets were recovered from the body. The cause of death was established as massive internal bleeding due to close-range gunshot injuries.
The remains were handed over to the family for burial, while exhibits were secured and a case file opened for further investigation.
