
His Excellency H.E. Mohammed B. S. Jallow the Vice President of the Republic of The Gambia on Wednesday, 8 October presided over the official validation and launch of the National Disaster Risk Mitigation Plan (NDRMP) at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Center.
The plan serves as a national roadmap to safeguard lives, livelihoods, and the environment, aligning with the Sendai Framework, SDGs, and Africaโs Agenda 2063.
VP Jallow commended Catholic Relief Services (CRS) for its partnership and reaffirmed governmentโs commitment to resilience through projects such as the West Africa Coastal Areas Resilience Project and flood control works in the Greater Banjul Area.
NDMA Executive Director Sanna Dahaba emphasized that the plan โmoves The Gambia from a culture of reaction to a culture of prevention.โ
The NDRMP 2025โ2033 will guide national and community-level actions to reduce vulnerabilities, strengthen preparedness, and build a more resilient Gambia.
