Brufut Zonal Team has been crowned Champions of West Coast Zonals 2025 Super Cup after defeating Foni 2.1 at the Boxba mini stadium.
In a thrilling showdown, the Sannehmentereng boys took an early advantage in the 21st minute thanks to the stunning goal from substitute Malang Conteh.
Foni responded in a minute courtesy of Momodou Jaiteh forcing the game to a fascinating 1.1 draw at half-time.
Coach Ebrima Gaye and boys, upon resumption, continued the search and were rewarded in the second half when Omar Jarju’s low drive beat the Foni goalkeeper to get Brufut on the driving seat for the second time in the game.
Jarju’s goal was another wake-up call for Coach Amadou Tamba’s side, who huffed and puffed for an equaliser but failed as the game ended 2.1 in Brufut’s favour.
Brufut, as Champions, walked away with a giant trophy, gold medals, and D50,000 cash while Foni pocketed home silver medals and D40,000 as consolation.
