The Joint Security Patrol Team in the Gunjur Division, under the Lower West Coast Region, has arrested three individuals during its 24-hour patrol on Sunday, November 16, 2025. The suspects were found in possession of suspected cannabis sativa.
The arrests occurred in one of the “Kampes” in Tujereng Estate where officers conducted a search leading to the discovery of the suspected prohibited substance.
The individuals were subsequently escorted to the Gunjur Police Station and handed over to DLEAG for further action.
The patrol team, led by D/Inspector Tumani Sonko, covered several communities including Tanjeh, Tujereng, Sanyang, Kachumeh, Sambouya, Gunjur, Siffoe, Mandinari, Nyofelleh, Kartong, Berending, and Madina Salanding.
Officer Commanding Gunjur Division, Superintendent of Police Modou S. R. Kujabi, conducted the debriefing session and commended the team for their commitment and professionalism.
The Gambia Police Force reaffirms its continuous efforts to maintain peace and security through its routine patrol exercises.
