Vice President Mohammed BS Jallow on Monday, 1st December, addressed National Assembly members on the 2020 audited accounts during the Fourth Ordinary Session of 2025. He highlighted government efforts to strengthen financial management, improve accountability, and ensure transparency.
VP Jallow outlined reforms to eliminate payroll irregularities, including integrating HRMIS with the IFMIS payroll system to prevent ghost workers and enforce staffing limits. He also confirmed that reconciliation of delayed accounts is underway, and revenue shortfalls in agencies like GAIPER are being addressed.
Several public bodies, including the IEC, NaNA, PURA, and local councils, have 90 days to submit missing documents and implement FPAC recommendations. Mansa Konko Area Council has already introduced digital tracking and standardized procedures.
VP Jallow emphasized the government’s zero-tolerance stance on financial indiscipline and urged agencies to strengthen controls and recover outstanding funds. FPAC welcomed the commitments and will monitor progress.
