WELCOME AND GENERAL INTRODUCTION OF QNET
You are all welcome to the QNET Product Workshop for the Media. Let me start by thanking you all for coming to this programme. A few years ago, some of you were actively publishing positive content for us. We appreciate your efforts. We are re-igniting our relationship with you all for the better.
The main objective of the QNET Product Workshop for the Media is to empower journalists with accurate information about QNET as global company and to let you see some of QNET’s range of certified products. We also want you to understand the QNET business model, our challenges and the steps we are taking to overcome them.
This is very important because QNET has been largely misunderstood and its name and products are being misused and misrepresented. People have said a lot of negative things about QNET, but today, you will get to know the real QNET and the truth about our operations
Let me re-introduce QNET to you. QNET is a 27-year-old wellness and lifestyle-focused global company with operations in more than 25 countries.
QNET uses a direct-selling business model to promote and sell its products. QNET has empowered millions in over 100 countries to transform their lives while allowing them to pursue their aspirations and goals. QNET is not a ponzi or investment or a get-rich-quick scheme.
QNET offers an array of life-enhancing products in areas of health, wellness, lifestyle, and education. You can visit www.qnet.net to see the list of amazing products we have. We have some of our products here and we will show them to you.
QNET’s MEDIA ENGAGEMENT EFFORTS
For many years now, we have been cultivating deeper relationships with the media across West Africa. In the past, we have engaged some of you here, and you have published positive content for us. Today, we are building on that relationship. Let me list some of the ways we have been engaging the media across West Africa:
Malaysia VCON Media Junket
Since 2022, we have been selecting and sending journalists from many West African countries, such as Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, Togo, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso, Guinea and Benin, to Malaysia on an all-expense-paid trip to attend our flagship global conference called the VCON.
These journalists tour our corporate head office in Malaysia so they can see, feel and experience QNET and our products. Some of them got to see, touch and have some of our products for the first time. Malick Faye, who is here today from Senegal, has attended the QNET VCON in Malaysia; three of his colleagues from Senegal, including a Seneweb journalist, have also travelled and participated. In the future, some of you may also have the opportunity to travel to our Corporate Head Office and attend our global conference, which usually hosts between 8,000 and 12,000 people from all over the world.
At VCON, journalists like yourselves also get to have the opportunity to meet and conduct one-on-one interviews with QNET’s global officers and key members of the company’s management, including the CEO. They ask all their complex and troubling questions and get answers.
One-on-one Media Interactions
We have organised many in-country one-on-one media interactions with journalists across West Africa. This is to ensure we reveal the official faces behind QNET to you and communicate our brand’s promise effectively. We fly our top leaders from different parts of the world to meet and interact with journalists directly. My colleagues and I flew from different QNET offices in different countries to meet you today. Some flew from Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal and even from Malaysia. We are doing this to show you that QNET is real, there are real professionals working for the company and QNET is not a scam. We are a real global company whose name is being misused by fraudulent people.
Media Webinars
When we are not meeting journalists physically, we are meeting them online. One of our signature online webinars is the VCON Media Webinar, where journalists who have travelled to our head office in Malaysia and attended the thrilling VCON, share their first-hand experience with other journalists.
Media Correspondence
Journalists are the first we speak to when we need to communicate to the general public. We send press releases, positioning statements and product communications. When we launched new products, we called journalists, met them and shared the good news. We share some of these products with you, so you can have a first-hand experience using them. When we are facing challenges and we need to tell our side of the story, we write to you. Some of you received our recent press release explaining that we are not associated with people arrested in The Gambia for fraudulent activities. We do not condone fraud, scams, illegal migration, illegal gathering or any form of illegality.
With all that I have listed, you can see that we are deeply committed to working together with you all the time. From now on, you will see more of us, hear more from us, and we will engage you more regularly.
(iii) QNET’S FIGHT AGAINST MISREPRESENTATION AND SCAMS
As you already know, we are combating the misuse of the QNET name by some unscrupulous individuals who misrepresent our brand for selfish and fraudulent reasons.
We are deeply troubled by reports of individuals falsely claiming association with QNET when they are arrested. In most cases, these individuals are neither connected to QNET nor authorized to represent our brand. Some deliberately misuse our name to mislead others and cause harm to innocent victims.
QNET is not an employment agency. We do not promise ‘guaranteed income’ or ‘travel opportunities’ in exchange for money. We do not facilitate visa acquisition. We do not condone illegal gatherings or participate in Ponzi or investment schemes. If anyone comes to you saying we do all these things and trying to deceive others, that person is fraudulent; report the person to QNET or the nearest police station.
iv) “QNET AGAINST SCAMS” CAMPAIGN AND COLLABORATION WITH SECURITY AGENCIES
Across West Africa, QNET is strengthening its compliance operations and working closely with security agencies to stop trafficking and recruitment scams misusing its identity. In Ghana, QNET has signed an official collaboration with the Economic and Organised Crime Office, EOCO, a government anti-graft security agency to dismantle fraudulent operations misusing QNET’s name and products. So far, hundreds of people have been arrested, and some have been prosecuted in court. We are working on replicating the same partnership with the police and immigration agencies across West Africa.
We have launched and implemented the “QNET Against Scams” campaign across West Africa. It is a 360-degree public and media education campaign that uses, television, radio, social media, newspapers, online ads and billboards to warn the public from falling for scams. “QNET Against Scams” is activated in Senegal, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso, and Nigeria. QNET continues to raise public awareness about fake job offers and fraudulent schemes. QNET reiterates that its business model is built on transparency and ethical practices, and that any form of deception, exploitation, or human trafficking is strictly prohibited.
Public Call to Action
We urge the public to remain vigilant against scams and false claims. If you encounter any suspicious activity involving the QNET name, please contact QNET directly via: WhatsApp hotline: +233 256 630 005 or Email: network.integrity@qnet.net
INVITING THE MEDIA TO QNET EXPO
Let me use this opportunity to announce to you that QNET is organising its Expo here in the Gambia. We want you and the general public to see, know and experience the real QNET. We are showcasing a wide array of QNET products to the public. This is not a recruitment exercise; it is an EXPO.
