Marr Nyang, founder of civic organisation Gambia Participate, has been honoured with the Youth Creativity and Engagement Prize at the Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani International Anti-Corruption Excellence (ACE) Award.
The prestigious award, presented by the King of Qatar in partnership with the United Nations, recognises outstanding global efforts to combat corruption and promote integrity.
Established in 2016, the ACE Award celebrates exemplary anti-corruption initiatives and is hosted annually in different countries. Previous ceremonies have been held in Vienna, Kigali, Tunis, Tashkent and San José.
Nyang was recognised under one of five award categories, alongside Lifetime Achievement, Academic Research and Education, Innovation and Investigative Journalism, and Safeguarding Sports from Corruption.
Award recipients receive international recognition for their contributions to advancing transparency, accountability and good governance worldwide.
