The Gambia Police Force, through the Police Intervention Unit (PIU) in Kerewan, has today continued Operation “Storm Watch” in the Jinack Islands as part of sustained efforts to combat irregular migration and secure coastal communities in the North Bank Region.
Led by the Officer Commanding Kerewan PIU, CSP Jatta, a platoon of officers was deployed to Jinack to consolidate gains recorded during earlier operations and to ensure that no irregular migrants, facilitators, or vessels remain within the islands.
As part of the operation, officers are engaging community leaders to reinforce cooperation and reassure residents of the Police Force’s continued presence, monitoring, and readiness to respond promptly should any security concerns arise.
The Gambia Police Force reiterates its commitment to sustained patrols, intelligence-led operations, and strong community partnership to prevent irregular migration and safeguard lives and national security.
