As part of ongoing efforts to curb irregular migration under Operation Zero Departure, the North Bank Region Immigration Command has identified a new departure point at ๐๐๐ฟ๐๐ป๐ธ๐, ๐จ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ก๐ถ๐๐บ๐ถโapproximately seven kilometres off the main highway.
The discovery followed a credible tip-off regarding suspicious movements in the area. Chief Superintendent Pa Muhammed Phatty, Operations Commander in NBR, led a dedicated enforcement team through the forest terrain to conduct spot checks, inspections, and environmental mapping. This proactive operation has now established continuous patrols around the site to deter irregular migration activities.
The Gambia Immigration Department (GID) draws public attention to the evolving tactics of smugglers, who exploit isolated water bodies to evade law enforcement. Communities are therefore urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any irregular movements to immigration authorities for swift action.
Together, we can curb irregular migration, safeguard lives, and uphold our national integrity.
