Gambia Government Engages Young People and Regional Authorities in Town Hall Meeting
On Tuesday, 3rd February 2026, at Wesley Hall in Dopson, Banjul West, the Government of The Gambia hosted a town hall meeting with young people and regional authorities to discuss national development initiatives. The event was spearheaded by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and aimed to provide a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and engagement between government representatives and the youth.
Hon. Ebrima Jawo, Executive Coordinator of Banjul, oversaw the proceedings, emphasizing the importance of youth participation in shaping policies and programs that drive national progress. The meeting provided an opportunity for stakeholders to share ideas, address concerns, and strengthen partnerships between the government and the community.
The engagement also featured an interactive question-and-answer session led by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Bakary Y. Badjie, during which young people directly raised questions, shared perspectives, and received clarifications on youth-focused policies, programs, and national development priorities.
