The West Coast Regional Security Services, comprising the Gambia Police Force, DLEAG, GID, GPS, SIS, the ECOMIG Contingent in The Gambia, and the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF), have intensified coordinated joint patrol and reconnaissance operations across strategic communities within the West Coast Region.
The exercise forms part of sustained inter-agency security measures aimed at reinforcing operational synergy, strengthening preventive visibility, and proactively addressing emerging security concerns through unified deployments.
Ahead of the patrol, CSP Bambo Conta, Chief of Operations for the Region, briefed participating officers on the operational objectives, emphasizing professionalism, discipline, intelligence-led coordination, and strict adherence to human rights standards. He noted that structured collaboration among sister security services remains central to maintaining public confidence and ensuring a secure environment for residents.
Commissioner Jimbo Sowe of the Gambia Prison Service equally underscored the importance of operational cohesion, accountability, and mutual support among security institutions in safeguarding communities and preserving stability.
The joint team conducted security patrols and area assessments in Yarambamba, Busumballa, Farato, Jambur, Jambanjelly, Jalanbang, and Brikama before returning to base without incident.
This coordinated deployment reflects the continued commitment of the West Coast Regional Security Services to strengthening inter-agency cooperation, enhancing public safety, and sustaining peace and stability across the region.
