His Excellency President Adama Barrow today received H.E. Mousa Saleh Batraki, Secretary General of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) and his delegation, at the State House in Banjul.
The OACPS delegation briefed the President on the preparations for the 11th Heads of State and Government summit by end of March, in Equatorial Guinea. The delegation also highlighted their achievements with ongoing reforms under the leadership of The Gambia as the Chair of the OACPS Community of Ambassadors in Brussels.
In his remarks, President Barrow underscored the importance of transparency and good governance in managing the organisation, urging open engagement with member states. He emphasised ownership by members in safeguarding the institution’s independence and priorities.
H.E. Mousa Saleh Batraki expressed his appreciation to President Barrow for the warm reception while commending his leadership in deepening collaboration among member states.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, Honourable Modou Njie accompanied the delegation to the Presidency.
