The modern facility developed through collaboration between the Banjul City Council, the European Union and the City of Ostend — will serve as a hub for innovation, learning and community engagement. The centre features an 800-seat multi-purpose hall, community radio and recording studios, an innovation hub, IT training labs, arts and cultural spaces, co-working offices, and green recreational areas designed to empower communities and inspire young entrepreneurs.
Vice President Jallow reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to advancing sustainable development, environmental protection and inclusive growth, noting that initiatives such as the centre are critical in helping coastal cities like Banjul address the realities of climate change and urban pressures.
Lord Mayor of Banjul, Rohey Malick Lowe, described the centre as a proud legacy for the people of the capital and a shining example of partnership rooted in trust and shared purpose.
