Youth members of Bojang Kunda have apprehended individuals believed to be part of a robbery gang linked to recent criminal activities in Drimakolong and surrounding areas.
According to eyewitness accounts, one of the suspects, along with others, allegedly attacked an elderly man on his way to Brikama Central Mosque for early morning prayers. The victim reportedly told the attackers he had nothing on him, but was assaulted and seriously injured before the suspects fled.
Community members say they have since apprehended a total of five suspects, who have been handed over to the Gambia Police Force.
Residents have expressed concern over recurring robberies in the area and are calling for sustained action, as police continue investigations into the matter.
