Dakar, 29 May 2026 — Ahmadou Al Aminou Lo has officially taken office as Senegal’s Prime Minister following a handover ceremony with his predecessor, Ousmane Sonko, on Friday.
The event, held at the Prime Minister’s office, was attended by government officials, administrative authorities, and staff. Sonko formally transferred files and responsibilities to Lo, marking a new stage in the country’s governance.
The new Prime Minister is tasked with continuing reforms already underway and implementing directives set by the President of the Republic, signaling continuity in Senegal’s political leadership.
