We are delighted to announce that Gambians Against Looted Assets (GALA) is represented at the Movement Gathering 2026, taking place from 1โ5 June 2026 in Arusha, Tanzania.
Following an invitation from the Global Social Movement Center (MOVE), our National Coordinator Hakeem Touray and General Secretary Omar Sanyang are traveling to Tanzania to participate in this important international gathering, joining activists, organizers, and movement leaders from across the globe to reflect, learn, strategize, and strengthen solidarity among social movements.
The Movement Gathering provides a unique platform for participants to exchange experiences and best practices on movement building, civic engagement, accountability, and sustaining collective action in increasingly complex political environments.
As a youth-led movement dedicated to promoting transparency, accountability, and the recovery of looted public assets in The Gambia, GALA is honored to share its experiences while learning from fellow changemakers committed to advancing justice, accountability, and democratic governance worldwide.
We look forward to returning with valuable insights, strengthened partnerships, and innovative strategies that will further enhance our work and contribute to building a more accountable, transparent, and just society.
